Reinventing the PAT Tester

First Stop Safety has an established history of manufacturing quality PAT testing equipment with the non-electrician in mind.

 Recent innovations in technology provided the ideal opportunity to introduce PAT testing equipment benefits not seen on other entry-level testers in the marketplace.

“We researched what was currently available in the market, and concluded that many improvements could be made to make PAT testing easier. First Stop Safety run training courses all over the UK and, from the feedback received from this, we designed the PAT testing machine based on the ‘wish-list’ of our customers.” said Charley Downey, General Manager at First Stop Safety.

“The most exciting thing about the Batt PAT is its flexibility. Unlike many other entry-level PAT testers, it can be used to safely and effectively test IT equipment, surge-protected devices and even long extension leads over 20 metres. It can be used in conjunction with standard accessories; such as 3-phase and 110v adaptors, so you can use the PAT tester to test just about anything. It is battery-powered and rechargeable, so you simply plug it into the mains to charge the unit.

In the unlikely event of the battery being low, the charger doubles as a mains adaptor, so you can’t get caught without batteries at the wrong moment”

Unlike other similar products in the marketplace whose units are of predominantly plastic construction, the Batt PAT tester is made from aluminium, which can be recycled. In addition, most battery powered assisted testers rely on disposable batteries, which contain harmful metals and are difficult to dispose of without environmental impact. Our power assisted tester (PAT) can be recharged time and time again. We also manufacture here in the UK, reducing our carbon footprint as well as giving us much tighter control over both quality and supply chain. ”
