Longlasting Greenstock Lighting

Date: 20/10/2008

GreenStock have promised to further their lighting range with the addition of longlife lighd for all standard lamps.

Greenstock director Matthew Wallis, who has recently become the company’s marketing director, explains, “Our short term objective is to have a long life replacement for all the popular standard lamps, that last at least three times as long, vastly reducing maintenance and waste.”  He continues,   “At the same time we are strengthening the Greenstock brand to reflect the company’s key position as established specialists in long life and low energy lamps.”

Greenstock is well on the way to achieving its goal with recent introductions of compact fluorescent (CFL) and high press sodium lamps (HPS) from the Aura long life range.
Aura long life lighting provides an environmentally friendly alternative to standard light products by reducing manufacturing and waste disposal through fewer lamp replacements. This means a 67% reduction in fuel consumption through road transport, resulting in a drastic reduction in carbon dioxide emissions.

Ecological benefits also develop through the more efficient use of raw materials and energy during the manufacturing and recycling of the light sources, in addition to the reduction of packaging materials used.

The Aura ‘Unique’ range of single-capped compact florescent lamps have either two or four discharge tubes connected by a bridge. The Unique-S, S/E, D and D/E models are available with high-quality tri-phosphor colours with a high colour rendering. The high lumen output with low energy consumption combines compact fluorescent with energy efficient light sources.

The Unique-S and S/E long life are intended for use in offices, shops, restaurants, hotels and small signs, and are ideal for task lighting and emergency lighting, whilst the Unique- D and D/E Long life are suitable for down lighting in specific designed reflectors, task lighting and ambient lighting.

The Aura high pressure sodium long life lamps are intended for lighting use in public areas, car parks, streets, tunnels and sports facilities and has a life time of up to 80,000 hours when operated with magnetic ballast and separate ignitor. This is therefore beneficial in areas with high columns or difficult access to luminaires.

Aura first produced its long life lamp over 20 years ago, and the range has since expanded to some 700 products, including lamps for use in industrial applications, products designed for retail lighting and thermo fluorescent lamps for low ambient temperatures.
