Totally UK Ltd launched the Wrap in the UK and Ireland in 1991, causing a major sensation in the beauty industry and in the media, as the first genuinely effective centimetre loss system which provides immediate results with a unique double guarantee. Since then the number of therapists, beauty salons and health clubs offering the treatment has increased from just 20 to more than 1500 - with up to 20 salons signing up each month.
The company gained global distribution rights in 2006 and is now actively looking for individuals or companies with the expertise and enthusiasm to emulate this success in their own markets.
"We have created a successful product by marketing the figure-shaping system effectively both to beauty professionals and to the public, and by supporting our participating salons with training and publicity," says overseas development director, Gill Hardy.
“Ideally, a distributor will have existing salon contacts within their territory and will be looking for a proven centimetre loss system which uses a limited number of products, making warehousing and distribution easy. Our new partners will be required to understand the demands of the consumer and the structure of the beauty profession, whilst being able to inject those essential elements of energy and commitment.”
The Universal Contour Wrap involves being wrapped from head to toe in bandages soaked in a warm, mineral-rich sea clay solution. These remain in place for an hour, acting like a giant poultice to draw out toxins from the body’s soft tissues. The detoxification and wrapping process compresses and compacts the areas of the body where fat is stored, creating a smoother, firmer muscle base over which the soft tissues lie. Various body measurements are recorded before and after treatment. A unique double guarantee promises clients will lose a minimum total of 15 centimetres across the body after their first full wrap, or pay nothing. If the minimum centimetre loss does not remain for at least 30 days, clients are wrapped again for free, provided they have not put on weight.
Distributors and salons will benefit in many ways from the new arrangement. Each distributor will run their own sales operations while Totally UK will assist with marketing support and exhibitions. The company has invested heavily in photography, literature, and point-of-sale materials, enabling them to offer a comprehensive exciting new look worldwide.
“We are in a strong position to help everyone with their business building using our experience,” adds Gill.
The system has grown over the years to include other added value options for clients. The SeaClay retail cosmetics range and the Universal Contour Wrap Home Kit allow fans of the salon treatment to continue to use pampering body products at home. A range of luxurious, relaxing spa-style SeaClay wraps has been developed that can be offered in addition to the original centimetre loss treatment, using existing equipment. These add-on treatments further harness the beneficial skin rejuvenating effects of sea clay.
