GPEG International and Displaytech (HK) offer new TFT displays with a guarantee of supply of 3 years. The first modules in this series of high brightness, wide viewing angle TFT modules are the DT024TFT and the DT028TFT. These a-Si displays feature a brightness of 200cd/m2 and 275cd/m2 respectively, and operate in normally white transmissive mode from -20~+70 deg C.
Both displays have a resolution of 240 x RGB x 320 pixels (QVGA) with a typical contrast ratio of 250:1, and feature a 262k colour output. The modules use the Renesas R61505U chip which features selectable interface modes: 18 bit parallel, SPI and RGB which ensures easy integration into a wide range of microprocessors.
Options to these standard products include; integrated touch screen and the ability for GPEG to semi-customise the backlight assembly to allow multiple mounting options.
With this flexibility these TFT displays are suitable for a wide range of applications that require a low cost, high contrast and brightness display module. They offer a simple upgrade path from a monographic display for medical instruments, handheld devices and test instrumentation.
