About us

The AirBurst process is repeated throughout the borehole until all treatment areas identified under the AirBurst schedule have been rehabilitated or developed to the best possible condition. The process can be customised to concentrate on areas for fracturing or fissure expansion e.g. "hydro-fracturing" to increase the borehole yield where desired. Any dislodged sediment, mineral scale and biofouling removed by AirBurst from the well screen, gravel pack or rock formation then falls to the borehole base where it is removed by airlifting or by using a submersible pump. Once the AirBurst process has been completed and the particulate matter removed from the borehole, a post-AirBurst CCTV survey is completed for comparison and analysis. Both pre- and post-AirBurst CCTV surveys and the process analysis then forms parts of the AirBurst borehole report for the client. In addition to the AirBurst process, a package of hydraulic performance testing can be undertaken to quantify in detail the effectiveness of the rehabilitation and/ or development of the borehole. The test data can then be analysed and fully interpreted by our specialist hydrogeology team and included within the AirBurst borehole report. The AirBurst process can take as little as one hour with complete site-based remediation usually lasting no more than a day. Where local conditions allow, Cirrus can treat multiple borehole sources in a day.
