Brass Finishes
Optimum Brasses offers a selection of three materials: brass, bronze, and white bronze. All our products are unlacquered, allowing them to naturally develop a patina over time—a characteristic known as a living finish. Our items are meticulously crafted using the lost wax casting technique and finished by hand; there's no mass production involved in our process. While your hardware may appear nearly identical at first glance, subtle variations in each piece add to the uniqueness of your Optimum Brasses order. Our goal is to create hardware that authentically blends into its environment, giving you the feeling that it has always belonged there once it's installed.
Our Finishes Include:
Traditional Antique
A finish that mimics the appearance of antique brass that has undergone natural aging over numerous years.
Light Antique
Eliminates the glossy appearance typical of polished brass, creating the illusion that the brass is beginning to develop an aged patina. Lighter in tone compared to the conventional antique finish, it offers a more consistent and uniform appearance.
Polished Brass
Raw brass meticulously machine-polished by a member of our workshop team to achieve a lustrous, high-shine surface.
Raw Brass
Brass is cast without any finishing touches, resulting in a raw and unpolished look.
Bronze Finishes
Several of our products are currently accessible for online ordering in both bronze and white bronze. You can make your selections through the finishes dropdown menus. Bespoke Replicas
At Optimum Brasses, we provide a personalised replication service for your original hardware fittings. Our collection of supplemental and primary catalogues comprises reproductions of both historical period originals and contemporary fittings. We utilise silicon rubber moulds to meticulously capture every detail of your item, which is then used for casting in brass, white bronze, or bronze.
