Roger Draper Opens New Courts
Shropshire based Bridgnorth Tennis Club, one of the oldest clubs in the county decided early in 2011 that two of their four courts had reached the end of their useful life, as pile depth on the existing playing surface had diminished to only 3-4mm.
With sound technical advice from Shropshire LTA a formal Invitation to Tender was sent out to leading Tennis Court Contractors in June 2011.After much deliberation and a period of due diligence, Leisure Surfaces (Cheshire) Limited were selected as the preferred Contractor. The project value was well in excess of £40,000 and was financed entirely from club funds.
Work commenced in September 2011, with existing carpets lifted, drainage checked, new macadam base and fencing erected. The Tiger Turf TG15 synthetic grass was the preferred surface and was completed early November to the delight of tennis members. The playing surface has now consolidated and the works as executed have met all expectations.
Bridgnorth Tennis Club officials have high regard for Leisure Surfaces with the works being carried out professionally and always with regard for the members needs and with a large junior section with safety at the forefront. Several other clubs in Shropshire have also utilised their expertise and Bridgnorth were able to see at first hand before contract award the quality exhibited by Leisure Surfaces Project Team led by their Managing Director Carl Mottershead.
