Rebrand - A Year On

22 April 2008

Continuing the rapid advance of its vending operations business

Continuing the rapid advance of its vending operations business, the Coffee Point Group is celebrating the first anniversary of their successful re-brand of Border Vending following the acquisition in 2004.

Border Vending Group was renamed Coffee Point North in April 2006. During the past twelve months the northern has achieved significant growth with a number of high profile new contract wins. With a geographical spread from Stoke and across to Sheffield up as far as Dundee, the Northern business is hailing the re-brand a tremendous success.

General Manager Cliff Phillips and Sales & Operations Director John Bell explain:

“Border Vending had a particularly strong brand in the North as they had been operating in the area for some 24 years. We knew we had a challenge on to change, not only the name, but to get our customers to recognise the increased benefits of belonging to a national organisation such as the Coffee Point Group”

“The aim has been to deliver a smooth and cost effective re-brand, including a revamped website, new corporate literature and changes to the vehicle and machine fleet. In addition we have launched a number of new concepts and products such as Caffe Carezza, which competes in taste and quality with the coffee house experience. We have launched a new all Fair Trade offer to our clients as well as a range of new style bottle vendors and table top machines. We are thrilled with the outcome.”

Coffee Point’s Northern team operates out of Warrington, Carlisle, Newcastle and in East Kilbride. Recently the Scottish team moved into new and significantly larger premises encompassing warehousing, offices, technical workshops and a new state of the art showroom. The Coffee Point Group offers a one-stop shop for vending and catering services, ingredient supplies, snacks, can and bottle machines, cashless systems and ancillary products. With a client list spanning a wide range of sectors, they boast a number of high profile customers including Center Parcs, United Biscuits, Carlisle Hospital, Northumbrian Water, Sage, Dickenson Dees and BNFL.

The Coffee Point Group are well known for their family friendly policies and for recognising their home-grown talent. They recognise the value of employing local staff, a number of which have been with the company for many years. By creating a smaller business environment through a nationwide network of depots and improving working practices to improve service, they have achieved incredibly low rates of absenteeism and staff turnover, unusual for such a large group.

Cliff continued: “We have seen a rapid increase in the volumes of new business and have been fortunate enough to have received praise from our existing customers. We owe a big thank you to all of our customers and everyone within Coffee Point for their support during the transition. We are now working to make even more improvements to our offer and service as we continue to be the leading vending operator across the North.”
