Metal cladding manufacturer strive to reduce carbon footprint

Joris Ide, the composite panel specialist has announced its environment strategies on its new website www.joriside.co.uk

The new initiatives include a drive to reduce carbon emissions across the manufacturing process and supply chain, as well as commiting to measure its own carbon footprint.

The company is already actively engaging in dcarbon8, a world-leading consultancy in carbon measurement and reduction, to audit its environmental performance and has also launched L°5, a low carbon polyisocyanurate insulating core which is CFC and HCFC free and has an ozone depletion of zero.

Managing director of Joris Ide’s Simon Grisewood said: “We want to be recognised as the leading European manufacturer in providing sustainable solutions for the metal building sector. Understanding and evaluating our environmental profile is essential to the long-term success of our business.”

Joris Ide’s product range includes wall panels, secret fix, composite roof, through fix wall systems and Rockwool panels. Importantly, details for each panel system include certification approvals, including LPCB. Joris Ide’s UK operation is based in Liverpool, with panels manufactured at the company’s headquarters near Bruge, in Belgium. The business operates in 14 European countries and produces some 9,500,000m2 of composite panels each year. www.joriside.co.uk Ends
