Legionnaires’ disease – Hotels tackle the risk

Help is on hand for hoteliers seeking to comply with the HSE’s code of practise L8, requiring all hotels to implement a full legionella risk assessment, and an effective regime to prevent an outbreak of Legionnaires disease.

MD, Tom Sensier, was at the Show to advise hoteliers on the most cost effective and practical equipment for testing, recording and monitoring water temperature. “In most cases, water temperatures will need to be checked monthly throughout the building. This is especially important for high-risk installations such as showers, water features and rooms with low or infrequent use. “ Cosmetic temperature monitoring solutions Hoteliers were particularly impressed by TME’s new Thermocouple Wall Ports, a fixed temperature probe system which uses discrete junction boxes for a safer and more cosmetic solution for regular water temperature checking.
The use of thermocouple wall ports enables temperature monitoring of hard to reach locations, reducing ‘working at height’ issues and minimising disruption to residents.
