Film provides valuable advice on creating and nurturing a good safety climate

Presentation by a safety culture consultant shares safety climate information and best practice via Cardinus YouTube channel
A VIDEO shot at the recent Cardinus Risk Management health and safety forum brings valuable safety culture information to internet viewers via YouTube. The film can be seen on the Cardinus YouTube channel at youtube.com/cardinusrisk
The forum, held on June 20 at the Cardinus offices in London, featured presentations from leading figures in safety climate and culture. All were filmed and more videos will be added to YouTube in the coming weeks.
In the first film, Mark Preston, head of safety consultancy at Cardinus Risk Management, discusses the issues and problems that can arise as well as the benefits of changing behaviour of the workforce with regard to health and safety.
He looks at how HSE inspectors are taking safety culture into consideration in serious incident investigations and site visits. Mr Preston reveals how they are attempting to measure levels of safety culture and how instituting such programmes can help protect organisations not just from serious incidents but from prosecution following accidents.
This and many more films can be seen on the Cardinus Risk Management YouTube channel now and all show the presenters’ slides full screen as part of the editing. The Q&A sessions at the end of each presentation are not filmed for legal reasons and to protect delegates’ confidentiality.
