Temperature measurement experts launch new solution for Cold/Hot Food Monitoring

19 August 2013

Monitor your kitchen cold store or hot cabinet from up to 20m away with UK thermometer manufacturer TME’s Great New Idea: the TC Wall Port.

A fine wire sensor connects this convenient, wall-mounted temperature port to a simulant probe left in-situ. For an instant reading, simply plug in your thermometer - no need to even open the door!

Busy restaurants and kitchens need to carry out regular spot checks on cold stores, freezers and hot cabinets or ovens; but entering each individual store/cabinet and waiting for readings can involve a lot of time and hassle, and the temperature fluctuations that occur at this point can affect accuracy of readings and spoil the chilling or cooking process. With the TC Wall Port, there’s no need to enter the store, or, indeed, even to open the door; you can remotely check temperatures and get an instant reading by just plugging your thermometer into the handy, wall-mounted port.

What is a TC Wall Port?

The new device is a thermocouple temperature sensor monitoring point which can be conveniently mounted to facilitate easy, instant spot checks on any cold/hot storage or cabinet unit.
The port is designed for use with fine wire probes which are attached to the temperature test point and left in-situ. These wires are then run to the port – a wall-mounted, small white box measuring just 52 x 52mm. This allows temperatures to be taken by simply ‘plugging’ a standard thermocouple thermometer into the box – much easier and less time-consuming than entering walk-in freezers or halting chilling or cooking processes.

Applications

•    Walk-in cold stores
•    Fridges or freezers
•    Hot cabinets
•    Large, industrial ovens or rotisseries

Compatibility

The new device can be used for cold storage with TME’s Food Simulant Probe, and for hot storage or ovens with TME’s Black Body Probe, both of which more accurately reflect the actual product temperature within an appliance. Also, the front cover is recessed to take an ID or barcode label for use with the company’s MM7000 Bluetooth Barcode logging thermometer for paperless recording.

See for yourself!

TME will be exhibiting the TC Wall Port, along with the rest of our range of food and catering thermometers, at The Restaurant Show, at London’s Earl’s Court 2, from the 7th – 9th October 2013. Come along to Stand J29 and see why we call ourselves the temperature measurement experts!
