£64 Million Lost to People Tripping over at Work

26 September 2008

According to Health and Safety official statistics tripping and falling over thousands of miles of loose cables is costing employees more than £64 million every year.

Every year, millions of pounds in compensation are claimed by people involved in accidents due to loose cabling in the workplace and the construction industry is the most at risk.

Vulcascot, the specialists in plastic substrates have responded to this by producing cable covers for very large diameter pipes and cables found lying on the surface or partially hidden by debris and mud which then become easy prey for the wheels of huge dumper trucks and ready mixed cement lorries  quickly  causing critically damage. Carefully designed to exacting materials standards, Vulcascot now have a wide range of heavy duty cable protectors with the largest capable of covering up to 53mm.

The entire Industrial range not only protects pipes and cable from building site damage but remains perfectly flexible throughout its working life  which means that the sturdy base on each product  fits snugly to the contours of the ground no matter how undulating and will not bend or crack once it is impacted.

The company’s design team recognises the constant need for even larger capability and plans the launch of a range of giant cable protectors later in the year. Ever conscious of environmental issues Vulcascot has ensured that the entire range is halogen free, non conductive, fire retardant and UV stabilized for extended out door life.
