Child's Play for Cognitive Development

06 October 2008

Play equipment that can help promote cognitive and physical development in children has been launched by SMP Playgrounds.

The Egham-based play company unveiled their new products at the recent IOG Saltex exhibition, at Windsor racecourse. The eye-catching, robust new items are additions to their popular Zingo and Nexus ranges.

The Zingo range of equipment is aimed at 2-7 year olds. Zingo promotes children’s cognitive and physical development, whilst providing uniquely entertaining play experiences. New Zingo items include:

Zingo Yo yo- a springer with an enclosed seat that makes it the ideal item for bouncy play, regardless of physical capabilities or limitations.

Zingo Roko-  an incredibly springy seesaw where young kids can bounce alone, in pairs, or even in threes.

Zingo Boing- a great, big springy, wobbly bubble, with a ledge you can stand on. It can be played on alone or with others.

The Nexus range is for older children, aged 7-14 years. It provides cutting-edge design and superb play value, with varying levels of challenge, stimulation and entertainment. New elements in the Nexus range include:

Nexus DNA-  a whole new range of climbing units, which pack an outrageous number of play challenges into tall but compact spaces.  DNA’s unique balcony concept provides complexity and challenge, and gives the equipment an utterly ground-breaking look.

Nexus Hover- a high energy stand-on seesaw, which is quite unlike any traditional seesaw. Hover invites intense physical activity, for maximum thrills.

Nexus Pogo- provides even more ups and downs than the New York Stock Exchange.

Sales and Marketing Manager Liz Bright commented, “We’ve created a real buzz with these new products, especially the Nexus DNA, and we’re delighted that we’re continuing our tradition of creating bespoke equipment that’s packed with fun and excitement.”
