20 October 2008

A company success story seems to be far from the public eye at the moment but Proludic Group, the playground equipment company that began in a garden shed, has just celebrated their 20th anniversary in lavish style.

Proludic was founded by Denis Le Poupon in 1988. He started the company by initially building playground equipment from his garden shed. From those early days Proludic has grown to be the market leader in France and one of the top playground manufacturers in the UK. It now has a commercial presence in over 30 countries worldwide, demonstrating how much the company has grown since its introduction into the play industry.

Four hundred and fifty Proludic employees from across the globe attended the celebrations near the Proludic head office in Vouvray, France. The celebrations were held at a local Chateau. It included activities such as pony trekking, hot air balloon rides, medieval themed games and live entertainment.

The day culminated in a three course dinner with disco and fireworks display. All Proludic staff were invited to attach a leaf (with their name engraved) onto a specially designed tree. The tree symbolises the growing Proludic family that all play a part in its success story.

From the beginning, Proludic had a distinct style; colourful, versatile and obviously built for fun. It has earnt a reputation for supplying dynamic, challenging and above all, innovative playground equipment. This presence in the play industry is cemented through affiliations with FEPI (Federation of the European Play Industry) and the API (Association of Play Industries).
