Playrite helping to create a haven for homeless dogs.

26 September 2014

Dogs Trust, formerly the National Canine Defence league, was founded in 1891 and is the largest dog welfare charity in the UK.

Each year the trust cares for around 16,000 dogs throughout their nationwide network of re-homing centres.

Playrite were recently contacted by Dogs Trust to help them create an outdoor environment, using artificial grass, for the dogs that currently live in their re-homing centres.

As one of the UK’s largest manufactures of a wide variety of artificial surfaces, Playrite were ideal as they could offer a number of different options for the Dogs Trust project.

During consultation with the client it was decided that they required a unique texturised grass which Playrite were able to develop and manufacture at their plant in West Yorkshire.

Durable and hardwearing and extremely safe for all animals including dogs this was the perfect solution for Dogs Trust and their requirements.

The first site for this project has recently been completed in Basildon, Essex which saw 700Sqm fitted into various areas on the site which can give the dogs at Dogs Trust the space to play.
