CND for Ryan Lo Fall/Winder 2017

CND, the pioneers of nail artistry at Fashion Week, teamed up with eccentric London-based designer, Ryan LO, to create two detailed nail styles for his Fall/Winter 2017 runway.
The collection combined street style with Japanese teen fashions to create a dramatic and unique juxtaposition. Custom nail styles embodied the ‘Street Chic’ theme, showcasing sophistication with an urban kick. Led by Jan Arnold and CND creative lead Marian Newman, the CND Design Lab Team brought the intricate creations to life using SHELLAC™ Brand 14+ Day Nail Colour and VINYLUX™ Weekly Polish. The first look was designed by CND Education Ambassador, Anna Lee, making her fashion week debut. The nail style showcased cashmere base tones with gold framing, translating grills into a romantic style with Japanese newsprint detailing, while bold gold chains added edge and movement, tapping directly into what makes Ryan LO a designer to watch. The second look was realized by CND Guest Artist, Winnie Huang expressing a literal take on Japanese newsprint with an opalescent finish reflecting trends also seen at New York Fashion Week and embracing international influences.
“It’s great to partner with CND and kick off the European side of Fashion Week with the mesmerizing Ryan LO show in London,” says Marian Newman. “Japanese street met urban chic on the runway, with decadent designs adorning nails and accent chains reminiscent of a clutch bag, morphing nails into jewelry and fashion accessories.“
“The transitional theme of the collection dared us to unite two contrasting styles, classic femininity and urban edge,” said Jan Arnold, CND Co-Founder & Style Director. “Pushing the boundaries of fashion, these looks introduced a new generation of style, with the show’s youthful Japanese teenager transforming into a mature fashion innovator.”
