| Testo and Parts Center have scooped the prize for the best Training Initiative at this year’s CORGI Awards held at the Ricoh Arena. |
The accolade was awarded for a user-friendly interactive training DVD on how to get the most from flue gas analysers which Testo produced in partnership with Parts Center.
'Flue Gas Analysers – A Practical Guide for Users', is split into manageable training modules that installers can work through at their own pace, each one finishing with a set of straightforward multiple-choice questions designed to help check and assess the users' knowledge. Installers can dip in and out of the modules as required to refresh their memory and answer the questions as often as they like.
Parts Center Trading Director, Colin MCGregor said; “We are delighted to win this prestigious Training Award. Flue gas analysers (FGAs) are used daily by our customers and we have worked with Testo to produce a user-friendly training DVD that provides essential information on gas safety, flue gas testing and analysis for gas professionals and colleges offering the CPA 1 training – the official assessment for registered gas installers who need to demonstrate competence in conducting combustion performance analysis of heating appliances. For the start of this academic year, we have supplied all colleges with copies to help students with their studies.”
Testo Ltd is one of the largest suppliers of flue gas analysers in the UK and Ireland. They offer an extensive range of instrumentation manufactured to the highest standards, providing customers with exceptional durability, functionality and ease of use. Having identified the skills gap, Testo worked closely with Parts Center to produce the award-winning training DVD.
Testo Managing Director, Tom Tonkins said; “When checking the safety and performance of boilers, gas service engineers often only use the basic functions of their Flue Gas Analyser. The training DVD helps them to understand so much more, detailing such things as the constituents of natural gas and how to use the advanced features of their FGA. For example, how to carry out a Tightness Test and CO spillage measurement in ambient air. Overall, we hope that the DVD will help operatives to ensure boilers and other gas appliances are serviced correctly, operate safely and efficiently, resulting in peace of mind and cost savings for their customers.”
Flue Gas Analysers – A Practical Guide for Users is available from Parts Centers across the UK and online. |
