Needling Pioneer visits UK for professional skincare educational events

22 October 2009

Two events taking place in London in January 2010 will provide a unique opportunity to learn from one the world’s leading authorities on skin needling and anti-ageing treatments who is visiting the UK.

South African plastic surgeon and founder of Environ Skin Care Dr. Des Fernandes, MB BCh FRCS (Edin), will give presentations at two half day events, hosted by the International Institute for Anti-Ageing (IIAA), one aimed at skin care therapists and the other primarily at aesthetic nurses and doctors.

On 25th January Dr Fernandes will preside over a Q & A session to answer questions about all aspects of skincare and its relationship with skin physiology. He will also present the Focus-Cit, a new skin needling tool, and complementary product formulations which can be used both in the salon and by clients at home to improve results.

On 26th January, Dr Fernandes will introduce the aesthetic audience to his latest needling inventions, including a body roller – as well as giving a live demonstration of needling and a lecture on the physiology of photo damage. The second event is expected to be of equal interest to skincare therapists who are increasingly working with cosmetic doctors and nurses to provide such advanced treatments.

Dr. Fernandes pioneered the method of percutaneous collagen induction (PCI) - a process that facilitates and stimulates the skins natural repair and growth processes without causing any scarring or permanent damage.

A course of PCI micro-needling treatments using the Environ® Medical Roll-CIT® (usually a minimum series of six), can typically result in a reduction in acne scarring and minor scarring, a softening of fine lines and wrinkles, lightened pigmentation marks, improved appearance of stretch marks, the reduced appearance of dilated blood vessels and the skin being naturally thickened, tightened and elasticity restored. All areas of the face, neck and body can be treated, it is suitable for all skin types and the healing period is minimal.

The events take place in central London on 25th January 2010, 2.30pm-5.30pm (cost £65) and 26th January 3.00pm-6.00pm (cost £85). Each seminar is followed by a drinks reception. Places are bookable through the IIAA on 020 8450 7997.
