Halifax home transformed with Timeless Timber Decking |

| BSWs' Timeless Timber has transformed a family home in Halifax converting an under-used garden into a bespoke landscaped area enjoyed by the whole family all year round, whatever the weather. |
 The project was undertaken by Ian Stephenson, a landscape designer from Cumbria, for his daughter who was looking for inspiration to enhance her home and especially the garden. Having lived in her current house for four years, and with three children, she was keen to create a space that the whole family could share.
Ian transformed the terraced and difficult to manage garden into a beautiful decked space, with a mixture of high and low level decking, and other traditional landscaping methods including dry-stone walling. The whole project took six weeks from design to implementation and has been very well received by the family.
Commenting on the project Ian said: “My daughter is delighted with the tiered decking and also the addition of lighting and glass panelling, which has created a perfect family area for both the children and the adults. They have become quite fond of alfresco dining!”
Ian, who has been working in landscape design for the past ten years, having previously run an engineering firm, has seen an increased number of enquiries for decked outdoor areas as people look to improve outdoor areas or add additional living space.
He continued: “As more and more people look to revamp their homes instead of moving, I am receiving a greater number of enquiries and requests for decked outdoor areas. The decking allows for individuality of design and can be completely tailored to the needs of the customer and is therefore proving very popular. Over 50 per cent of my enquiries are coming in from people looking for decked spaces, mainly in residential use. Wherever possible I try to incorporate other materials, such as glass and stone, or features such as water and lighting and containerised planting.”
