SAPCA Announces Autumn Event Programme

27 September 2007

Each year the Sports and Play Construction Association holds a series of Sports and Play Construction Exhibition and Seminar events.

The next two events this year will be at York Racecourse on 18 October and at the New Wembley Stadium on 28 November for the most ambitious event of this type so far undertaken.

Sports and Play Construction is a special one-day event that provides delegates with three main sources of information:
• An exhibition featuring the leading constructors of sports facilities and suppliers of related products and services, as well as professional consultants that offer expert advice on sports projects.
• A series of informative and educational seminars aimed at managers, owners and end-users of sports facilities particularly those intending to build or refurbish sports and play surfaces or upgrade facilities by the inclusion of fencing, floodlighting or other related equipment. Attention is also focussed on the maintenance of facilities.
• The SAPCA Advice Resource Centre providing ready access to professional expertise provided by representatives drawn from SAPCA member companies, Sports Governing Bodies, Funding Sources and other organisations.

The events are supported by Sport England and Play England, as well as a number of sports governing bodies including the Football Association, the Lawn Tennis Association, UK Athletics, Rugby Football Union and the England and Wales Cricket Board. The Sports and Play Construction events are open to all those involved in sports and play facility projects, including voluntary sports clubs, schools and colleges, local authorities, public and commercial sports centres, consultants, specifiers and contractors.

Attendance at the events, including any of the seminars, is free of charge. For the convenience of delegates, food and refreshments are available to purchase on a cash basis.
