Packline eliminates 'telescoping' reels with Clamping Vertical Spindle

Lifting and handling specialists Packline, have introduced a new concept in reel lifting and handling with their new Clamping Vertical Spindle.
Telescoping reels can occur if the reels are not wound tightly enough, making the reels impossible to lift via the core. The new Clamping Vertical Spindle concept from Packline overcomes the problem of telescoping reels with a new and innovative way of clamping the external diameter of the reel, whilst still handling the reel via the core. The reel is rotated using an electrically operated 12v or 24v linear actuator, whilst the clamping and finger expansion is carried out via hand wheels. This is a quick and simple way to re-orientate difficult to handle reels.
Capable of lifting reels up to 130kgs with diameters from 450mm - 750mm and a wide range of widths, the Clamp Vertical Spindle is built to order to suit bespoke applications.
