Practice Nets Equals Success!

Morley Cricket Club’s new practice nets play a major part in the development of the clubs batting and bowling skills leading to improved results on the field.
Following the unveiling of their new outdoor practice nets last October Morley CC has had a pleasing start to the season with progress at all levels. The First XI are aiming for and working hard to achieve top 4 status by the end of the season. The Juniors right across all ages are looking at a successful end to their seasons also showing great promise for the future and the development and progression of the Club in the years to come.The new outdoor nets have made for a more focused training session with the First XI using the facility twice a week and the Juniors counting down the nights until their session each Friday. The feedback from visiting Clubs has also been positive making the investment worth every penny.
In addition to the development of player skills the facility has also provided the Club with a much needed source of revenue. The Cricket Section Secretary at Morley CC, Simon Barraclough explained “Going forward it will give us the potential to raise additional income for the club by hiring out the training facility to other clubs and also with a plan to offer coaching to our juniors next year in 1 to 1 sessions with our overseas professional and other senior players. This is a vital asset for the club. Money continues to be tight in this environment and new ways to generate income, such as this, will allow us to hopefully prosper and increase participation at all levels.”
It is such a positive outcome which makes Barriers By Design proud to have contributed to the building and securing of the new facility and are delighted with the progress so far this season. We continue to offer our support to the Club and wish them every success in the years to come!
