Peterborough Company Cleans Up with Unique Wheelabrator Machine

16 April 2007

A Peterborough-based specialist engineering company has made a clean break with the past by ordering a unique component washing machine from the world’s leading surface preparation specialist.

Rivercircle Ltd, of Roundhouse Close, Padholme Road, Peterborough, has installed the SmartLine conveyor machine, which is a special version of Wheelabrator Group’s established model, SL200 conveyor-type washer.

The purchase will form the component washing section of a large integrated assembly machine which specialist equipment manufacturer Rivercircle are making for a customer. The machine will make automotive anti-vibration mounts, which are filled with glycol using an under fluid wet assembly operation, for vehicle suspensions and dampers.

The customer had previously used a more basic cold washer to clean the mounts.

Jonathan Theobalds, managing director at Rivercircle, said: “The SmartLine machine is better than the previous method, as it washes at a temperature which produces a much cleaner finish. It also has an integrated dryer, which means the end-product is ready for testing.
“We researched suppliers and decided on Wheelabrator Group with their experience and have no regrets about our decision. They were able to provide the customised machine, meeting our needs exactly and at a very competitive price.

“The washing machine was delivered about 12 weeks after the order was placed and is working fine. We would certainly be prepared to use the group’s services again and would recommend it to others.”
