About us

Alplas was the first, the original Point of Sale (POS) accessory company in the UK. Incorporated in 1965 by Bob Hood, affectionately known in the industry as the Godfather of POS accessories back in the day.
This was the time when the first shelf barkers, ticket rails and bus stop clips appeared in our shops. Early innovation included the 'Top Entry Holder' barker, the 'Pinch-Bar' tube system and the 'Signbiter' clip. Over the years new products were created, existing products evolved and the business grew with expanding international relationships. Marketing with hand drawn artwork and exhibiting with help from the extended family were the order of the day. Firm foundations were laid.
