Fire Alarm Systems Wigan
Stockcode:
Argus work strictly in accordance to the British standards. The current standard for Fire Alarm Systems in the UK is BS5839:2017, which has recently replaced BS5839:2013. There are two main reasons for having a Fire Alarm installed, Life protection and Property protection.
Life systems are categorised as (L) type systems with the exception of manual systems which are (M) type.
Property systems are categorised as (P) type systems, these are designed to protect buildings and stock.
Life systems can be designed for both commercial and residential use, the British Standard has different requirements for each of these. Commercial systems must comply to BS5839:2017 Part 1, and Residential to Part 6 of the standard, the biggest difference between these standards are the sound level requirements, although this is not the only difference.
There are different types of certification for Fire Alarm companies to achieve. In January 2015 Argus achieved BAFE Approval for the maintenance of fire detection systems. In September 2015 Argus completed the process and achieved full BAFE approval for system design, and installation to Part 1 of the standards. Argus are not as of yet approved to Part 6, however this is something we will be looking in to further, in 2018.
