Meet Jack Anderson - Trainee Calibration Technician

Background Before joining Interface Force, I built a varied career centred around science, the outdoors and problem-solving.

I started out in zoology, working as a keeper, consulting on animal behaviour and teaching. After a short period in disease research, I decided to swap the laboratory for the outdoors, spending six years as an adventure sports coach. During that time I taught rock climbing, kayaking, canoeing, expedition leadership and a range of other outdoor activities.

Hobbies

Outside work, I enjoy staying active and spending as much time outdoors as possible. Rock climbing is probably my biggest hobby, whether that's indoors or on natural rock, with Dorset being my favourite climbing destination. More recently I've also taken up bridge climbing.

I also enjoy kayaking, paddleboarding and I'm currently learning to sail. Skateboarding is another regular pastime, particularly surf skating, although I'm starting to get into traditional street and trick skating too.

When I'm taking things a little easier, you'll usually find me reading. My bookshelf is a mixture of fantasy, science fiction, scientific literature and history. I also enjoy playing Warhammer 40,000 with friends, where I proudly command an Ork army.

My Role

I'm excited to be joining Interface Force as a Trainee Calibration Technician in the calibration laboratory. I'm looking forward to developing my technical skills, learning from the team and building my career in calibration.

A Bit About Me

I'd describe myself as light-hearted, enthusiastic and naturally curious. I enjoy learning new skills, trying new experiences and making the most of every opportunity to grow, both personally and professionally.

Family and friends are incredibly important to me, and at home I have two Jack Russell–Beagle cross dogs, Smudge and Milo, who certainly keep life entertaining!
