DSEAR Risk Assessment and Hazardous Area Compliance

Inglewood Engineering are leading experts in assessment, inspection and design relating to instrument, electrical and control equipment located in areas covered by DSEAR/ATEX safety regulations. We work predominantly in the UK, however we also cover overseas.

We carry out the following services;

  • DSEAR Risk Assessments
    Risk Assessments should be carried out when there is a possible risk of an explosion or flammable atmosphere in the work place.

  • Hazardous Area Classification
    DSEAR regulations require the employer to classify places at the workplace where an explosive atmosphere may occur into hazardous or non-hazardous places. The Hazardous Area Classification survey covers this requirement.

  • Hazardous Area Inspections
    Inglewood Engineering site inspection and documentation is completed in line with BS EN 60079 guidelines to ensure that you can prove compliance to the relevant authorities. Every piece of equipment within the hazardous area is subject to the installation and documentation checks that are detailed in the standard.

  • BS7671 Inspections and Testing
    Our Engineers work with you to put together a periodic testing plan that encompasses the required inspection and tests for your premises and also takes account of your specific requirements with regard to minimising disruption.

  • SIL Determinations
    Operating companies are legally obliged to ensure safety in the workplace. Risk reduction measures have to be put in place and managed through a safety management system. A safety case justifying the risk management position must be completed for inspection by the regulatory authorities.

  • DSEAR Training
    Our bespoke training courses are designed to ensure that employers meet their duties under Regulation 9 of DSEAR.
  • Our compliance services include all aspects of Dangerous Substances and Explosive Atmosphere Regulations (DSEAR) compliance, Electricity at Work Regulations (EAWR) compliance and Safety Instrumented Systems (SIS).
    We can guide companies through the whole process; from determining the extent of any risk in the first place to establishing long term practices for staying on top of things once everything is in order.
