Job description:
Key Responsibilities to include:-
- Preparation of technical sales bids, proposals all in a quick turnaround
- Provide technical support to customers
- Conduct commercial negotiations
- Liaise with projects team to generate order acceptance documentation
- Consult current production schedule and liaise with production to finalise lead times
- It would be advantageous if you can produce CAD mechanical and electrical drawings but not essential
- The input to our CRM on competitor activity, pricing, products, etc.
- Communicating with sales staff, customers and suppliers via email, phone, but with the occasional customer visit as required
- Preparation of regular reporting material primarily using Excel
ABOUT YOU
This role will suit someone who has a technical sales background, a competent telephone manner and likes talking to customers, as this is a major part of the role.
A positive and outgoing personality with excellent interpersonal skills.
You would require good computer skills to be able to update databases, produce good quality technical quotes and spreadsheets.
It is not essential but it could be advantageous if you have engineering qualifications, ONC-NVQ-A level-degree etc in mechanical or electrical engineering, a good English and Maths qualification would be needed as a minimum to help with the technical aspect of the position, sizing of UPS and batteries.
Training will be provided throughout for all aspects of the position.
Key experience essential for the role:-
- Experience in a similar role in engineering technical projects / sales background is highly desirable
- Educated in an electrical engineering discipline to HNC/ONC level as a minimum (a degree would be advantageous but is not essential)
- Ability to make high volumes of sales callsExcellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Experienced IT user ( MS Office )
The successful candidate will be offered a salary of between £20-25k depending on experience and qualifications, company pension, 26 days holiday (Christmas week shut-down) and company bonus scheme.
We operate a 37.5 hour working week finishing early at 4pm on Friday.
Located in Milton Keynes Harland Simon UPS Limited is a leading independent supplier of Power Protection equipment including UPS, chargers, battery packs, etc.
These systems range from standard to complex systems and are supplied to many industries including defence, power and water, public sector, comms/IT, road and rail, export, etc.
