The successful applicant will have sales experience, a professional manner, a pleasant personality and a customer service approach that helps to retain customers and win new prospects. You will be expected to provide a level of sales support that ensures customers’ expectations are met in full or exceeded and, importantly, results in customers placing orders.
A first class telephone manner is essential, as you will influence customers’ perceptions of the company. In addition, you will need to be able to write clear and precise e-mails and letters when responding to incoming enquiries.
There is plenty of variety. You can expect to answer queries from customers and distributors, produce estimates and identify sales opportunities for winning business from both existing customers and prospects.
You will need to be able to prove success in a sales support role for at least eighteen months (which may include a period spent in sales or sales administration).
You will have to demonstrate close attention to detail, as the role involves maintaining accurate and comprehensive records of customers’ orders and entering information on the customer database.
Good communication skills will also be required as you will work closely with our team of sales professionals. In addition, you will liaise with the Production and Sales Order Processing teams.
Your IT skills should include a working knowledge of MS Outlook, Excel and Word, together with experience of using CRM software.
Experience in the locking systems industry is unnecessary, as product training will be given. However, you should have the ability to understand and remember technical information.
We have industrial and commercial customers around the world and are seeking someone who can rise to the challenges of international business. If you can communicate in French, in addition to having English as a mother tongue, this would be an advantage.
Although the role is predominantly office based, occasional visits to customers located in the south east may be necessary, using a pool car. Consequently, a driving licence is required.
The package comprises a highly competitive salary − not sales commission − together with five weeks’ paid holiday.
