Job description:
MAIN DUTIES:
• To ensure the most efficient use of call rate is used to maximise the benefits to the company.
• Set objectives for each call. Use acquired selling skills to define requirement, gain acceptance, present product and close sale with the help of prepared offer analyses and visual aids. Assess own skills with a view to improvement. To be creative by adding value to secure the business.
• To keep up to date with new and existing products, learning the relevant features and benefits.
• To keep the database up to date and relevant with new and existing customer information ensuring that all elements are completed, including all user defined fields and document attachments. To ensure that all forward activities are recorded o the calendar to ensure clear communication of availability to the organisation.
• Complete all allocated hotlist tasks (enquiries and quotes qualified within 1 week) and record activity onto the database.
• Manage the sales ‘pipeline’ to provide good estimate of future orders. Keep Target Account Profiles and Visit Plans up-to-date and relevant. Aim to spend approximately 50% of your time within key accounts.
• To meet agreed area sales budgets by major product group. To show growth in Target Customer accounts. To provide estimates for future sales to facilitate the sales forecasting and budgeting processes.
• To take advantage of and promote all value added benefits available where relevant to maximise sales opportunities and margin.
Person Specification (Experience/Knowledge)
• The candidate will have a scientific background, for example a chemistry or biochemistry qualification, or experience as a laboratory technician perhaps in the life sciences or environment, food testing sectors having direct involvement in research, QC or other industrial processes.
• This role would suit someone seeking a commercial role and scientific working environment to develop their career in the Scientific, Environmental and Technology Industry.
• The candidate must have the ability to build and maintain good working relationships with fellow team members and customers. Excellent verbal communication and interpersonal skills are essential.
• Numeracy and organisational skills are essential.
• Other qualifications or previous experience which meets the specification of the job description would be an advantage i.e. knowledge of: SAP Business One, Sales Order and Quotation experience, technical & scientific sales experience
