Better sound and vibration productivity with PULSE 18

16 September 2013

Brüel & Kjær’s data analysis platform PULSE gets advanced new features in its 18th version

The latest version of Brüel & Kjær’s data acquisition and analysis platform, PULSE 18, focuses on supporting efficient and productive test processes in aerospace, defence and space testing - and in automotive Noise Vibration Harshness (NVH) development.

When testing large structures such as submarines, satellites or aircraft, the cost and logistics of repetitive testing can are high, so it is critical to get the correct data first time.

PULSE 18 helps ensure the integrity of test data through dynamic fault handling and efficiently manages large amounts of data, to help keep test schedules on track. As efficient NVH development processes are key to having a competitive advantage, PULSE 18 makes it simple for engineers to optimise their NVH development and product verification processes.

The new capabilities cover a range of different test scenarios including interior NVH, exterior noise, indoor pass-by noise to ISO standards, evaluation of ride and handling performance in NVH simulators and powertrain engineering. PULSE18 also has a new, entry-level analyser system called PULSE Access, which offers engineers an easy-to-use, stand-alone acquisition and analysis toolbox. Designed for a wide range of general analysis tasks with up to six channels, it enables the engineer to perform benchmark testing, basic troubleshooting and simple structural analysis with one simple system. Based on the modular LAN-XI Data Acquisition Hardware, PULSE Access easily scales up into a more comprehensive system, as circumstances require.
