Evac+Chair International donate a heart-warming gift to a Community Centre in Middlewich

Birmingham based Evac+Chair International a leading supplier of emergency equipment; donates a CardiAid Automated External Defibrillator (AED) to Middlewich Community Centre, St. Ann's Walk.
The automated external defibrillator is a ‘talking’ device that provides comprehensive step-by-step instructions to operators and is specifically designed for public access use. The device provides life-saving electroshock treatment to people who suffer a heart attack or sudden cardiac arrest (SDC).Evac+Chair donated the AED as a ‘thank you’ for the recent support shown by Linda Boden at the Health & Safety Exhibition at the NEC. Linda bravely told her tragic story about her son Andrew at a breakfast seminar.
Linda Boden sadly lost her son Andrew in November 2006 to a sudden cardiac arrest at just twenty six years old; he passed away in his sleep without warning. Since then Linda has been actively campaigning through SADS UK (Sudden Arrhythmic Death Syndrome) to create awareness and raise money for defibrillators to be installed in schools and other public areas in Middlewich.
Majority of cardiac arrests occur outside the hospital and early defibrillation can triple a victim’s chance of survival, the presence of a public access defibrillator can enable early intervention and fast response in a life or death situation. For every minute that passes without CPR and defibrillation the chances of survival decreases by 10%.
Linda Boden said: ‘Andrew is the heart of SADS UK; I am the mouthpiece that spreads the word and the awareness. The people of Middlewich are the body that supports and provides the funds to supply the defibrillators’.
