Backing Young Designers

Morplan is proud to be sponsoring the Young Fashion Designer UK competition by providing prizes of essential fashion design equipment to the six winners. Established since 2010, the aim of the national competition for 16-18 year olds, is to showcase and promote the exceptional work of talented fashion and textile students at GCSE, AS, A2, BTEC and IB level.
Stretching across the UK, the competition is hosted by centres in the Midlands and the South, with entries judged by a selection of industry professionals, including designers, brand managers from companies such as Ralph Lauren, JD Group etc and education specialists. 18 finalists will be invited to attend the Finals at either Royal Grammar School, Worcester or Kent College, Pembury and three winners at each site will be selected. Spokeswoman Kerry Wilson, herself a fashion graduate, said “My first contact with Morplan was when I bought my college equipment from them 28 years ago – I still have and use most of it. We were delighted to be given the opportunity to get involved in the competition and hope all the students that take part continue their passion for fashion in the future.”
The finals are on Saturday 4th July.
