Stannah provide a helping hand for town house residents

13 June 2007

A growing trend is emerging for installing a service lift into private houses to make daily life a little easier when living over several floors.

Stannah Microlifts Ltd are reporting an increase in installations of their ‘dumbwaiter’ goods lift into private houses, in addition to their traditional market of restaurants, bars and hotels.

Stannah have installed many food lifts in large London houses for private individuals, but the high demand for new housing, using less land, means many developers are building more floors on a smaller footprint.  These three and four floor ‘town houses’ often have an unconventional arrangement of rooms with living and dining areas on upper floors and the kitchen  on a different level, making it necessary to carry food and drink frequently up and down stairs.

The inclusion of a Stannah Microlift can make all the difference to comfortable living.  The lift is there to help with the movement of all goods – from the shopping and catering to the laundry and recycling of waste – that is part of everyday life.
Every town house should have one!
