Allington House Water System

31 January 2017

The Allington NHS Trust has a four bedroom community home in Ipswich, which is a residential home for people with learning disabilities and forms part of the Patients In The Community Scheme.

Limescale resulted in the continual scaling of the thermostatic mixing valves which needed changing every two months. In addition, scale also affected the circulation pumps, taps, showerheads and pipework.

After ENiGMA was installed in January 1994, an immediate improvement was observed. Water pressure steadily improved throughout the building and there was a noticeable increase in water temperature. The thermostatic mixing valves no longer scale up and no maintenance work has been required, saving the Trust costs on labour, fuel and maintenance.

Estates Manager, David Green, has been so delighted with the success of the ENiGMA system that he has installed additional systems at the Stowmarket Health Centre and Whiton Clinic as part of the Trust's refurbishment programme. Further Systems will be installed at a number of Allington NHS Trust's other 25 properties.
