Network Rail approval for Elands' Rail Telecoms Cables

17 June 2009

Eland Cables now has more Network Rail approved rail telecoms cables than any other rail cable supplier.

That’s the message from the Eland rail team, which is celebrating after securing full product acceptance on Armoured Copper Trackside and Copper Trackside Cable.

Awarded on 28 May 2009, the Network Rail approval (NR/PR/TEL/00015 – formerly known as RT/E/PS/00015) covers 32 variants of 0.63mm and 0.9mm PE and Armoured PE Copper Trackside Cable (from 2-pair to 100-Pair). This latest achievement forms part of an ongoing product acceptance strategy and complements Eland Cables’ already wide-ranging railway cables portfolio – which includes Signalling Cables, MV Cables, SWA Cables, Trackfeeder Cables, Telecoms Cables and Screening Conductor Cables.

"To achieve product acceptance, Eland underwent an intensive period of testing and completed multiple compliance reports,’ says Technical and Projects Manager Chris Barnes, who managed the approval process. Managing Director Philip Brown adds: ‘We are delighted to have the quality of our cables recognised by Network Rail once again. Product acceptance is a fantastic achievement and, combined with short lead times, competitive pricing and a massive investment in stockholding, clearly demonstrates our commitment to offering customers more choice than any other rail cable supplier.’
