Stocksigns help lorry drivers have a safer drive

15 July 2009

Safety signs to warn cyclists of the dangers of lorries.

Every year over 15,000 cyclists are killed or injured on our roads. Most of these accidents occur during daylight hours in urban areas. One of the most common cycling accidents is caused by a motorist turning across the path of a cyclist.

Stocksigns has been working closely with haulage companies to help tackle this problem with their lorries. The issue lorry drivers face is that when cyclists ride along the left hand side of their truck, they can be invisible to the driver due to potential blind spots on some large vehicles. This is a particular problem when the lorries then wish to turn left and often do so directly into the path of the cyclists.
