Sharing acts of kindness during COVID-19

Our customers have been finding ingenious ways to help others during the pandemic, from offering their accommodation to NHS workers to giving away free holidays.
We’ve rounded up some of the stories below - hope you enjoy them!Butlin’s have been helping in lots of different ways – their Bognor Regis resort is housing homeless people, vulnerable families and paramedics during the pandemic. They are all staying in the Atlantic Bay self-catering apartments and are receiving support from the local council which includes a weekly food delivery. Meanwhile the wardrobe team in Skegness have swapped sequins for scrubs and have been helping to make scrubs for the local hospital and the Minehead resort is being used as a distribution centre for food and supplies to support the local council. Well done Butlin’s!
Shorefield Holidays are offering free accommodation at their Forest Edge site in Dorset for NHS staff, allowing frontline workers and carers a safe place to live if they’re unable to go home due to the increased risk of spreading the virus to their loved ones. Due to the volume of workers who got in touch with them they can now offer their full hire fleet of 35 caravans as free accommodation, with contactless check-in, throughout the pandemic and urge healthcare workers to get in touch if they need a place to stay.
Simpson Travel are giving away ten holidays in 2021 to say thank you to NHS staff and care workers. You can nominate anyone who has been on the frontline during the Coronavirus pandemic by sending their details to thankyou@simpsontravel.com.
Parkdean Resorts are also offering free accommodation as a gesture of thanks to NHS workers at their Whitley Bay, Vauxhall, Southview and Torquay holiday parks for workers who can’t make it home due to Coronavirus. Parkdean have also donated to over 30 food banks and charities across the UK during the pandemic so far.
