It’s usually applied either from a wax heater using a spatula or rolled onto the skin using a wax cartridge.The main clue to it being strip wax is the way it is removed. By using a piece of paper waxing strip, hence how it got its name, strip wax. But how is strip wax different from other waxes and what should it be used for? How is strip wax different from other waxes? The most obvious difference between strip wax and other waxes like hot wax and film wax is the fact that it is removed using a strip of waxing paper. Because this strip of paper is pressed tightly against the wax and skin, it adheres much more firmly to the skin. It is therefore advisable that this type of wax be used for larger, less sensitive areas like legs, arms and the back. Since strip wax grips the skin quite tightly when removed it also removes excess dead skin cells in the process, leaving the skin looking rejuvenated after treatment. However, if you have a skin condition like psoriasis or eczema, suffered recent sunburn or use blood-thinning medications, we don’t recommend making a wax appointment as your skin might be too sensitive.

Follow these directions for use:
1. Remove the lid and place the tub of wax in the wax heater. Start at a low heat and turn it up gradually while occasionally stirring the wax until you achieve a honey-like consistency.
2. Test the wax on the inside of your wrist to make sure it is at a comfortable temperature.
3. Now prepare your client’s skin using the Harley Cleanser & Toner.
4. Next, use a spatula to apply an even layer of wax in the direction of the hair growth. (For stubborn hair, start by going against the hair growth and then back down, all in one move.)
5. Massage a waxing strip into the wax. Then, while gripping the strip with one hand, hold down the skin with the other, remove the strip in the opposite direction of the hair growth. (Move quickly and apply pressure to the affected area immediately after removing the strip.)
