‘Plumbing in Practice’, a new instructional 90-minute DVD on plumbing sponsored by Plumb Center and Parts Center, has gone international following a request for a copy from a leading plumbing college in Denmark.

Benny Wielandt, senior lecturer at Technical Education Copenhagen, Denmarks' largest plumbing college, is delighted with the DVD;

“Wolseley UK responded really quickly to my request for a copy of this excellent DVD. Our plumbing students are benefitting greatly from the DVD. Not only is the information it contains relevant and timely, but it is also exceptionally well presented in an easily digestible form and is really hands on.”

The DVD, which has already been provided free of charge to nearly 200 plumbing colleges across the UK, comprises 10 case study films, each covering a range of different plumbing and heating jobs from initial call out through to diagnosis and resolution.

The films follow a team of two plumbing tutors as they take the viewer through the practical issues, taking advantage of location filming in order to pass on the tips and tricks that an apprentice would usually only find out when working with an experienced plumber (for example, how to deal with lead piping or a cistern that doesn’t fit through the loft hatch).

Around 400 free copies have been sent to plumbing colleges across the UK to supplement classroom learning. Students can purchase a copy for themselves at just £5 and the DVD retails at £19.99 for anyone else.
