Space Airconditioning provide up to £1,300 savings on the cost of your Space Altherma heat pump

Consumers looking at saving energy may benefit from two government grant schemes, the LCBP scheme and the latest ‘boiler scrappage scheme’ which came into effect on 5th January.
The Space Altherma air to water heat pump system is fully MCS (microgeneration certification scheme) accredited and therefore qualifies for grant aid of up to £900 (or 30% of the total cost which ever is the lower), under the Low Carbon Building Program (LCBP) phase 1.Space Altherma also qualifies for a further £400 under a new government initiative - the ‘boiler scrappage scheme’ as well as only 5% VAT for refurbishment projects instead of the standard 17.5% you would be charged by replacing with a fossil fuel boiler, this could be a further saving of £750.00 (depending on overall cost). Space Altherma is one of very few renewable heat technologies that can replace your assisting old and inefficient central heating boiler, (G rated or worse), and can qualify for grant support under all the above schemes.
How can you tell if your boiler is G rated or worse?
If your boiler has a pilot light it is very likely to be G-rated or worse, or if it is gas-fired and over 15 years old, or oil-fired and over 20 years old. Alternatively at your point of survey you will be advised if you are eligible to apply for the additional £400 boiler scrappage scheme grant.
Who can apply for the boiler scrappage scheme?
The boiler scrappage scheme is available for up to 125,000 homes in England and is for privately owned or privately rented residents only. You can apply if your old boiler is in working order and is used as your main heating source, or if you are over 60, you can apply even if your main central heating boiler is not in working order.
How to claim for your boiler scrappage grant?
Space Air can assist with your application to the LCBP, but you will need to apply separately for the additional £400 boiler scrappage grant.
Firstly contact Space Air to arrange for a quotation to replace your assisting boiler with an A rated Space Altherma air to water heat pump. You need this information for when you register your interest in the boiler scrappage scheme. You are not guaranteed to be accepted, and should not commence with any installation until you have received your £400 voucher. This should only take up to 10 days from registering.

Once you receive your voucher, do not lose it. You will need to return the voucher with the Space Air invoice to the Energy Saving Trust to receive your £400.
You can also apply for the LCBP grant.
It is not often that you can apply for more than one grant, but the UK has ambitious targets to reduce carbon emissions, so the Government are helping in many ways for us to reach this. There is an abundance of paperwork involved, but Space Air can assist with it all, making every step simpler.
