New single-use, Stirred-Tank Bioreactor

08 April 2010

New Brunswick Scientific have developed a novel, single-use stirred-tank bioreactor which finally provides researchers with a vessel that truly mimics the traditional stirred-tank design.

The CelliGen BLU Bioreactor lets you easily move your process into production; with the added benefits of disposability, including low startup costs and quick turnaround between runs.

It features lightweight, pre-sterilized, single-use vessels in 5.0 and 14.0 liter total volume capacities, which are ready to use, right out of the box. All components in product contact are made of USP Class VI materials and have been tested for leachables and extractables.

Advanced control of the system, and options such as 4-gas mixing and multiple thermal mass flow controllers, provide all the tools needed to produce high cell densities. The compact, non-disposable control station also features integrated pumps and color touchscreen interface, with which users of NBS’ autoclavable CelliGen 310 & 510 systems may already be familiar.
