Stannah install a passenger lift in The Withywood Centre

04 October 2007

A13-person Stannah passenger lift installed in The Withywood Community Centre

The 13-person Stannah passenger lift installed in The Withywood Community Centre is central to the smooth movement of all sections of the community within the building. It travels from the ground floor reception area to the first floor clinic and second floor offices.

The interior finish is bright and light with a half-height mirror to three walls and every feature on the operating panel in the lift and on each landing to ensure the lift meets the requirements of EN81-70 and the DDA, making it truly accessible to everyone, including disabled people and wheelchair users. The Withywood Centre in south-west Bristol provides a wide range of services to the whole community from a baby clinic, crèche and nursery through children’s classes, adolescent groups, the Edge Youth Café, to meetings and services for elderly people.

The Centre includes the Amelia Nutt Clinic (Bristol NHS Trust), a church, South Bristol Advice Services and all the advice and support needed through every stage of life. Once visitors have accessed the service they require they can relax with friends in the Centre’s Megabytes Café.
