FlexiDry helps train the next generation of screeders

17 May 2010

FlexiDry fast drying floor screed’s training videos are forming a key part of the instruction provided to students at the Chase Tiling Academy.

The training centre in Cannock, Staffordshire., established five years ago, is a growing facility specialising in teaching floor tiling and plastering. It has gained accreditation to enable it to provide all students with a recognised qualification. CTA's growing reputation has led to students travelling from far and wide to study at the centre. And South Staffordshire College has formed a working partnership with CTA to allow students to obtain funding for diplomas and apprenticeships, along with NVQ level 2 and 3 qualifications . David Mynett, Training Manager at Chase Tiling Academy commented: “We are currently using FlexiDry videos as part of our instruction delivery on screeding and new advancements.” “As part of the construction diploma, sand and cement screeds are part of units 2027 both in plastering and wall and floor tiling, and your videos provide good information.” In 2009 FlexiDry produced three videos, available to view online on the company’s ecommerce website, to help explain FlexiDry applications; screed testing; and a video answering the questions most frequently asked by architects, M&E consultants, underfloor heating contractors, builders and screed installers. The FlexiDry website is not the only place to find updates about fast drying screeds. Twitter, Facebook and Youtube are among the modern media being used to deliver publications, useful hints and tips, photos and videos to reach a wider network – all accessed via the ‘FlexiDry Community’ area within the Expert Centre of the website.
