Mobile Shelving - Technical Records

06 December 2010

EZR Shelving supplied a mobile shelving system at Marchwood Power Station for storage of 8000 A4 techical records files.

Marchwood is one of the most technically advanced power stations in the UK and operates at 58% efficiency using natural gas and steam from an energy recovery system.

The complex design of a combined cycle gas turbine (CCGT) power station requires all technical information to be readily available for maintanence or in the event of a failure.

EZR Shelving's mobile shelving solution provides two blocks of roller racking to enable access for two archive managers at all times.

The mobile shelving system is designed to suit lever arch files with 6 shelf levels and 13 files per shelf, providing a storage capacity of 8000 A4 files.

All mobile shelving units have safety locking hand wheels with an integral track and floor system providing a flush anti slip floor.

The two blocks of mobile shelving are accessed by a central gangway, which benefits from natural light without obscuring the window.

The total floor area used was 45m2 and the overall system height was 2.27m

Beech end panels provided an attractive finish to match the furniture within the technical archive store.

Traditional wooden Plan Chests were also supplied for the storage of A0 drawings with 9 drawers per cabinet.
