Eriez Europe support foreign language students

Eriez Europe use a variety of different languages in their working day including French, German, Italian, Polish, Portuguese, Russian, Spanish and Welsh.
With Europe consisting of many different countries, with different cultures and languages, it is important that Eriez can communicate with them in the best possible way. This gives Eriez an advantage as customers respond very positively when communicating in their native tongue, if not direct with Eriez then through an agent in their country. CILT Cymru, The National Centre for Languages in Wales approached Eriez Europe to help them with their work to promote a greater national capability in languages and to support the work of all those concerned with language teaching and learning in education. A group of 40 students from Blackwood Comprehensive School in Caerphilly, Wales, visited the Eriez Europe plant as part of their French language learning. Sarah Grain, Key Account Manager, who herself speaks French, German, Italian and Chinese organised the sessions giving talks to the school children showing them how being able to speak a different language in the work place has benefited both herself and the company [Eriez] she works for. The 13-14 year olds were given a chance to practise their French by asking questions that they had previously learned in class. They were also given a brief introduction to other languages by some of the Export Sales Executives, namely Agnieszka Dzien speaking Polish, Rita Cincotti speaking Italian, and Marina Wagstaffe speaking Russian.
The sessions at Eriez were very successful in not only promoting the benefits of speaking French but all languages. The students will hopefully keep in mind what they have learned at Eriez whilst planning for the years ahead of them.
