Victor – a leading manufacturer of British-made hot and cold service solutions, has developed the Ambassador range of energy saving, mobile service trolleys, ideal for the health care sector.
The versatile Ambassador range, comprises, heated units and combination hot and cold models, standard and heavy duty build, and adult or junior size configurations.The large capacity Ambassador HotHot AMB 20, which has been specified by a leading care home group, is a super-insulated mobile cupboard, with hot holding for three GN1/1 bains marie and two heated cupboards. It is also available in a towable option which is ideal for sites with satellite dining to outlying buildings.
The AMB 20 features highly effective insulated cabinets that deliver an impressive reduction in energy consumption. The air gap between the inner and outer wraps of the unit and the doors is filled with 25mm thick rockwool. Energy consumption was compared with a similar unit without this insulation at normal running temperatures: hot cupboard at 85◦C and Bains Marie at 90◦C. The result was a 49% reduction in energy usage or 0.72kWh/h. With electricity costs currently running at approximately 10 pence per kWh, the Ambassador AMB 20 saves 7.2 pence per hour.
It is estimated that a typical care home would use each trolley for 6 hours per day (3 x 2 hours) delivering a pay back in under a year.
For smaller operations, or localised service, the Ambassador AMB1 HotKold combination unit with capacity for three GN1/1 bains maries, one heated cupboard and one chilled/ambient cupboard delivers a wealth of catering versatility.
The lower cupboard can be either ambient or chilled using four Victor StayKold Eutectic plates (available as optional extra).
