Why aren't all subways this bright?

07 July 2011

Blooming Brilliant Bracknell have done it again.

When their latest subway came up for redecoration they didn’t just reach for the magnolia paint, oh no! They commissioned a Bio Diversity themed mural celebrating their GOLD award in the small city category in the prestigious “Britain in Bloom” competition.

The work was carried out by our friends at Community Clean who provided not only the Artist but also the method statements, Risk assessment and Safety plans.

The first job was to strip the subway of all its graffiti and previous coatings. Then once the walls were back to bare concrete the artist got to work, first laying down a background and then this visually stunning “Blooming Biodiversity” mural.

Once happy with his creation the whole thing was protected for 20 years with easy-on anti graffiti coating ensuring any “additions” can be swiftly removed. “Such forward thinking guarantees a verifiable return on investment” Says Urban Hygiene’s Director, Mark Johnson “Not only has this project given the people of Bracknell an underpass to be proud of but the application of a True permanent Anti Graffiti Coating will ensure the council saves money on any future refurbishment of this subway.”

Murals like this are a most effective way to brighten up highways, parks, schools and houses and if protected correctly can give pleasure for years to come.
