Jane Iredale Inspires Therapists at Bristol Events

11 July 2011

Mineral make-up pioneer Jane Iredale recently gave an inspirational presentation to more than 170 skincare therapists, make-up artists and aestheticians at the Doubletree by Hilton Cadbury House in the beautiful Bristol countryside.

Guests came from as far away as Ireland, Wales, Yorkshire and West Sussex to get invaluable advice on how make-up can drive their business forward.

The event was co-hosted by jane iredale brand manager Emma Doherty, who together with Jane talked about ways in which owners, staff and clients become passionate brand advocates.  Mini make-over demonstrations by make-up artists helped to show how a quick application of mineral make-up after every treatment not only increases client satisfaction but also boosts retail opportunities.   There was also an exclusive preview of Jane’s upcoming Autumn collection, Naturally Confident, a set of eye shadow compacts and long lasting lip stains.

Jane emphasised the important role of both the salon environment and staff in making a successful business, outlining key facts about beauty buyer behaviour as well as useful display and retail tips.  Jane highlighted the importance of attractive displays and ‘play’ stations and gave the audience a world-first look at a brand new display unit designed with this in mind, which will be launched later in the year.

“Creating a memory is key: a client’s experience should include what they see, touch and feel in your salon,“ said Jane.  “Sell using all the senses.  You have five seconds to make an impression where the customer decides whether or not they’d like to buy from your establishment.

The overriding message for the day was the transforming effect of passion and its role in business success.

“Research shows that the biggest single reason why customers stop coming to salons is employee indifference. Some 68% of people don’t return mostly because people don’t believe in what they do.  If the enthusiasm has gone you need to either change your product lines or your employees.  It’s not even selling when you love the products you offer,” concluded Jane.

Business owner Julie Veysey of South Beach Spa in Exeter said “Jane was completely inspiring, so genuine and passionate and that comes through in the make-up she creates.  I’ll definitely implement the one-minute makeover as part of every skincare treatment we do.  I don’t want one client leaving without having tried at least one product from the range.  It’s all so beautiful and good for the skin.”
